Description
The Fleetguard 3831852-S Water-In-Fuel Sensor is a replacement sensor and drain assembly for 1989–1996 Dodge Ram 5.9L Cummins 12-valve trucks using compatible Fleetguard fuel filters.
Mounted at the bottom of the fuel filter, the sensor helps detect water collected in the fuel system while the integrated drain makes it easy to remove accumulated water during routine fuel filter service.
This sensor also works with several Glacier Diesel Power Prime-Loc applications through 1999, making it a useful replacement for both factory and upgraded fuel filtration systems.

Water and diesel fuel don't play nicely together.
If you're servicing the fuel filter and notice a damaged, leaking, or non-functioning Water-In-Fuel sensor, this is a good time to replace it. The integrated drain also allows collected water to be removed from the filter without removing the entire assembly.
Just make sure to match the sensor to your fuel filter and filtration setup, especially on trucks equipped with a Prime-Loc system.
