Glacier Diesel Power 2003–2007 Dodge Ram 5.9L Cummins Mega-Rail Fuel & Airflow System (030767-MRS)

Description

The Glacier Diesel Power Mega-Rail System is a complete fuel and airflow solution developed specifically for the 2003–2007 Dodge Ram 5.9L Common Rail Cummins.

Rather than upgrading one restriction at a time, the Mega-Rail addresses both intake airflow and high-pressure fuel-system capacity as one engineered package.

And don't let its performance capability fool you — the Mega-Rail isn't just for competition trucks.

The increased airflow and fuel-system capacity can benefit a daily driver, tow rig, work truck, or high-horsepower build. Whether you're looking for a less restrictive foundation today or building a truck with considerably more power in the future, the Mega-Rail gives the 5.9L Cummins room to grow.

Better airflow. Greater fuel-system capacity. One complete system.

More Air + More Fuel Capacity

A diesel engine needs both air and fuel, and improving one while leaving restrictions in the other eventually creates another bottleneck.

That's what makes the Mega-Rail different.

The system significantly increases capacity throughout key areas of the high-pressure fuel system while simultaneously opening up the intake and charge-air path.

GDP documents approximately 50% greater capacity in key high-pressure fuel-system areas, along with an approximately 110% increase in plenum entrance area.

The charge-air path is also increased from the factory 3.0" configuration to 3.5", providing approximately 20% greater piping diameter.

Instead of moving the restriction somewhere else, the Mega-Rail was designed to improve the system as a whole.

Daily Driver to High-Horsepower Build

The Mega-Rail has the capacity to support serious performance, but you don't need a 1,000+ horsepower truck to use it.

For a daily driver, tow rig, or work truck, increased airflow and reduced restriction provide a strong foundation without requiring an extreme engine combination.

For customers planning future modifications, the additional capacity also means you can build around the system rather than replacing intake and fuel-system components every time the truck evolves.

As the truck grows into larger injectors, modified CP3 pumps, upgraded turbochargers, compounds, or additional fueling, the supporting infrastructure is already there.

Build it once and give yourself room to grow.

Actual performance and fuel economy will vary based on tuning, injectors, turbocharger selection, vehicle configuration, driving habits, load, and the overall engine combination.

Complete Engineered System

The Mega-Rail isn't a collection of random off-the-shelf parts thrown into a box.

It's a purpose-built conversion engineered around the 5.9L Common Rail Cummins.

Glacier Diesel Power has already done the work of determining the proper component combination, fitment, routing, hardware, and supporting pieces required to make the conversion function as one complete system.

Rather than sourcing individual components, determining compatibility, fabricating pieces, and figuring out the conversion yourself, the Mega-Rail provides a proven solution in one package.

The complete package provides:

  • Increased high-pressure fuel-system capacity
  • High-flow intake and charge-air upgrades
  • Necessary conversion and supporting components
  • Required installation hardware and sealing components
  • A complete system engineered to work together

Everything necessary for the Mega-Rail conversion is supplied unless specifically noted otherwise.

High-Pressure Fuel-System Protection

The Mega-Rail retains a functional pressure-relief system rather than relying on a solid rail plug.

The system provides a relief threshold approximately 3,000 PSI higher than the original configuration, allowing for increased high-pressure capability while maintaining pressure-relief protection.

That's an important advantage on a high-pressure Common Rail fuel system.

CP3 Compatibility

The Mega-Rail is compatible with single CP3 configurations and compatible 6.7L-style twin CP3 systems.

Important: Twin CP3 systems designed specifically around the original 5.9L configuration will NOT fit the Mega-Rail.

If you currently have a dual-CP3 system, contact Glacier Diesel Power before ordering and we'll help verify compatibility.

Rail Pressure Sensor Tech

A 6.7L rail pressure sensor can be used with the Mega-Rail on a 5.9L application with minor electrical connector modification. However, the voltage mapping between the sensors is different.

GDP testing found that this configuration can result in actual rail pressure being approximately 13% higher than what the ECM reports.

Do NOT combine this configuration with a pressure box.

If your tuner provides adjustable rail-pressure settings, GDP recommends using the stock pressure setting when running the 6.7L sensor.

Actual rail pressure should be monitored with a standalone gauge capable of properly reading the 6.7L sensor.

Grid Heater Options

The standard Mega-Rail configuration eliminates the factory grid heater, but cold-weather starting capability doesn't have to disappear with it.

Glacier Diesel Power offers compatible grid-heater solutions for customers who still need intake-air heating.

Why Choose the GDP Mega-Rail?

The Mega-Rail was built around a simple idea:

Give the 5.9L Cummins more room to breathe and more capacity to deliver fuel.

For a daily driver or tow rig, that means a less restrictive foundation with plenty of room for future upgrades.

For a serious performance build, it provides the airflow and high-pressure fuel-system capacity needed to support much more demanding combinations.

And because Glacier Diesel Power engineered the system as a complete package, you're not left trying to figure out how to piece the conversion together yourself.

Daily driver to high-horsepower build — the Mega-Rail was designed to give the 5.9L Cummins room to grow.
