Glacier Diesel Power 2003–2007 Dodge Ram 5.9L Cummins MK-2+ Remote Mount Fuel Filter & 3/8" Big Line Kit (MK20306-RM)

Description

Protect your CP3 injection pump with cleaner fuel and a less restrictive supply path.

The Glacier Diesel Power MK-2+ Remote Mount Kit adds a high-efficiency Fleetguard FF5320 fuel filter between the factory filter housing and the CP3 injection pump while replacing the restrictive factory supply line with premium 3/8-inch fuel hose and fittings.

This remote-mount version was developed for 2003–2007 Dodge Ram 5.9L Cummins trucks that cannot use Glacier’s standard under-hood MK-2+ system because of an engine-mounted APPS or Jacobs exhaust brake. The included universal bracket allows the filter to be mounted on a suitable flat area along the frame rail, giving owners the flexibility needed for these applications.

With secondary fuel filtration, upgraded plumbing, and 15 feet of supplied fuel hose, the MK-2+ Remote Mount Kit delivers improved CP3 protection and excellent fuel flow in one complete package.

Features

  • Fits 2003–2007 Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500 5.9L Cummins
  • Designed for trucks with an engine-mounted APPS or Jacobs exhaust brake
  • Genuine Fleetguard FF5320 fuel filter
  • Adds secondary filtration before the CP3 injection pump
  • Includes Glacier’s 3/8-inch Big Line upgrade
  • Replaces the restrictive factory line between the filter housing and CP3
  • Universal frame-rail mounting bracket
  • Includes 15 feet of fuel hose
  • Owner-selectable mounting location
  • Supports stock and high-performance applications
  • Serviceable spin-on filter design

Why Upgrade to the Remote Mount MK-2+?

The CP3 and injectors depend on a steady supply of clean fuel. While the factory filter provides primary filtration, adding a second filter before the CP3 provides another layer of protection against fine particulate contamination.

The Remote Mount MK-2+ also replaces the restrictive factory supply line with full-size 3/8-inch plumbing. This means customers receive both major benefits of the MK-2+ system:

  • Additional filtration before the injection pump
  • Reduced restriction between the factory filter housing and CP3

The remote design makes those benefits available to trucks where engine-mounted components prevent the use of Glacier’s standard mounting location.

Glacier Fuel System Tech Tip

The remote mounting location is flexible, but hose routing still matters.

Choose a mounting area that:

  • Protects the filter from road debris and direct impact
  • Keeps the hose away from exhaust heat and moving components
  • Provides enough clearance for future filter changes
  • Avoids sharp bends, kinks, and unnecessary hose length
  • Allows all connections to be inspected easily

The kit includes 15 feet of fuel hose, but only use the amount required for a clean installation. Excessive hose length and poor routing can add unnecessary restriction.

Why Glacier Built It This Way

Glacier’s standard MK-2+ mounts beneath the intake manifold, but engine-mounted APPS assemblies and Jacobs exhaust brakes can occupy that space.

Rather than leaving those trucks without an option, Glacier developed a remote-mounted system using a universal bracket that can be installed along the frame rail. This keeps the filter accessible while maintaining the filtration and fuel-flow advantages of the standard MK-2+.

The system uses premium 3/8-inch fuel hose and fittings from the factory filter housing to the CP3, replacing the restrictive original line while adding the Fleetguard FF5320 as the final filtration stage. The FF5320 and 3/8-inch plumbing are designed to support substantial fuel flow without creating excessive pressure loss.

Kit Contents

The Glacier Diesel Power MK-2+ Remote Mount Kit includes:

  • Fleetguard FF5320 fuel filter
  • Universal remote-mount filter bracket
  • Glacier 3/8-inch Big Line components
  • 15 feet of fuel hose

  • Mounting hardware
  • Installation components

Important Notes

  • Fits 5.9L Cummins applications only.
  • Designed for trucks with an engine-mounted APPS or Jacobs exhaust brake.
  • The final mounting location is selected by the installer.
  • Mounting may require drilling into a suitable frame or bracket location.
  • Route all fuel hose away from exhaust components, sharp edges, and moving parts.
  • Leave enough space beneath the filter for future servicing.
  • Prime the fuel system after installation.
  • Inspect all connections for leaks before operating the engine.
  • Recheck hose routing and fittings after the first complete heat cycle.

Common Failure Point

A restrictive factory line can limit fuel delivery even when the lift pump and factory filter are operating correctly. Fine particulate contamination can also continue downstream toward the CP3 and injectors.

The Remote Mount MK-2+ addresses both concerns by replacing the restrictive line and adding a dedicated secondary filter before the injection pump. Regular filter replacement and fuel-pressure monitoring remain important for maintaining long-term fuel-system reliability.
