Glacier Diesel Power 2007.5–2024 Ram 6.7L Cummins Mega-Flo Heavy Duty Dual Element Arctic Grid Heater

Description

Cold-weather starting is important on any diesel, but improving intake airflow shouldn't mean giving up the ability to reliably start your Cummins when temperatures drop.

The Glacier Diesel Power Mega-Flo Heavy Duty Dual Element Arctic Grid Heater was engineered to provide the intake heat your 6.7L Cummins needs while eliminating the restrictive factory grid heater from its original location.

Designed for 2007.5–2024 Ram 6.7L Cummins applications, this proprietary Glacier Diesel Power system relocates the heating elements to the throttle valve/intake horn area, allowing it to work with factory and many aftermarket intake configurations while keeping the heating elements out of the factory intake plenum.

The Heavy Duty Dual Element version is our most popular Arctic Heater option and is specifically designed for trucks operating in colder climates, northern regions, Canada, and extreme winter conditions where greater heating capacity is needed. For trucks operating primarily in mild to moderate climates, Glacier Diesel Power also offers the Standard Duty Single Element Arctic Heater.

The precision CNC-machined housing uses heating elements matched for proper amp draw and heat output while working with the factory power wire. The system is designed to provide full heating performance without triggering grid heater fault codes.

Most importantly, this isn't a generic heater adapted to fit a Cummins. The Mega-Flo Arctic Heater is a proprietary Glacier Diesel Power solution engineered specifically around the 6.7L Cummins platform.

Why Relocate the Factory Grid Heater?

The factory 6.7L Cummins grid heater sits directly in the intake airflow path. While it provides important cold-weather starting assistance, its location also creates an airflow restriction.

Simply deleting the factory grid heater removes that restriction—but it also eliminates the truck's intake heating capability.

The Mega-Flo Arctic Heater provides another option.

By relocating the heating elements to the throttle valve/intake horn area, you can remove the factory grid heater from the intake plenum while still retaining intake heating capability for cold starts.

This makes the Arctic Heater an excellent companion to the Glacier Diesel Power Air-Boss Intake Plenum and other high-flow intake upgrades.

Heavy Duty vs. Standard Duty

Choosing the correct Arctic Heater depends largely on the climate where your truck operates.

Heavy Duty – Dual Element

The Heavy Duty TVH2 is our dual-element Arctic Heater and most popular configuration. It's specifically designed for customers operating in colder climates where dependable intake heating becomes increasingly important.

For trucks regularly exposed to severe winter conditions, northern regions, or Canada, the additional heating capacity of the dual-element design makes the TVH2 the preferred choice.

Standard Duty – Single Element

For trucks operating primarily in milder climates where extreme cold is occasional rather than an everyday winter condition, consider the Mega-Flo Standard Duty Single Element Arctic Heater (TVH1).

Glacier Tech Tip

The Mega-Flo Arctic Heater is especially valuable when installing an Air-Boss Intake Plenum.

The Air-Boss removes the restrictive factory grid heater from the intake plenum to increase available airflow. Pairing it with the Arctic Heater allows you to gain the airflow benefits of the Air-Boss while still retaining an intake heating system for cold-weather starting.

This gives Cummins owners a complete engineered solution instead of forcing them to choose between improved airflow and cold-weather capability.

For customers building a more complete high-flow intake system, the Arctic Heater can also be paired with the Glacier Diesel Power Mega-Flo S-2 Intake Manifold.

Why Choose Glacier Diesel Power?

The Mega-Flo Arctic Heater follows the same philosophy behind the Air-Boss: don't simply remove a restriction—engineer a better solution.

Rather than telling customers to permanently give up their intake heater in the name of airflow, Glacier Diesel Power developed a system that relocates the heating elements while retaining the cold-weather functionality diesel owners rely on.

The result is a proprietary intake heating solution designed specifically around the needs of Cummins owners.
